I work within the field of sleep research, where we focus on outputs for improved Alertness, Safety and Productivity. I'm interested in meeting with other Communications experts, particularly those involved with CRC Programs and projects. Other attendees may like to meet with me to find out how we at the CRC for Alertness, Safety and Productivity approach Communications, and to share knowledge and ideas around this.

Virtual and mixed reality technology for training systems. Computational modelling of aerosol/pathogen dispersal in urban environments. Low power wide area network technology. High performance computing.

Interested in new technologies with medical applications.

Interested to partner with local universities and research institutes to co-develop ideas of best fit to Cook.

Research/innovation interests: In a communication context (I am a science communicator for CRC CARE): contaminated site assessment, management and remediation/clean-up. Also agricultural research, esp. in developing countries.

People/organisations to meet with: Communication professionals (or anybody interested in communication practice) from environmental consultancies, contaminated site owners (e.g. mining/resources companies; industrial chemical producers; local/state/federal government), public & private research organisations.

Indigenous researchers are the most under-represented group in the Australian postgraduate landscape. The University of Adelaide is looking to innovate its current strategies and outcomes in Indigenous postgraduate enrolments and completions; having established the Indigenous Postgraduate Project Officer role early 2018, we are hoping to develop and improve our current practices, particularly:

Establishing and maintaining community and industry led Indigenous research

Developing and supporting Indigenous researchers

Establishing innovative ways of attracting and 'up-skilling' Indigenous researchers
