Indigenous researchers are the most under-represented group in the Australian postgraduate landscape. The University of Adelaide is looking to innovate its current strategies and outcomes in Indigenous postgraduate enrolments and completions; having established the Indigenous Postgraduate Project Officer role early 2018, we are hoping to develop and improve our current practices, particularly:

Establishing and maintaining community and industry led Indigenous research

Developing and supporting Indigenous researchers

Establishing innovative ways of attracting and 'up-skilling' Indigenous researchers

Interested to talk to potential clients for research services in Defence & Security, Ag, Food & Wine, Medtech & Health, Mining & Energy, Environment & Sustainability and Society & Economy

Research/innovation interests: contaminated site assessment, management and remediation/clean-up (this encompasses national policies and guidelines, measurement and analysis, risk assessment, and clean-up technologies); mine site rehabilitation.

People/organisations to meet with: Environmental consulting professionals/companies; senior state & federal government officials (esp. from departments of environment, innovation, industry and defence); contaminated site owners (e.g. mining/resources companies; industrial chemical producers; property developers; local/state/federal government).

The above may like to meet with me because CRC CARE is a national leader in developing approaches and technologies for cost-effectively managing and remediating contaminated sites. Government officials may also be interested in our policy research, which has influenced national guidelines on the assessment and management of contaminated sites.

My interests are as follows:

I have significant experience in research management, stakeholder engagement and management, science communication, event (conference/workshop/seminar/webinar) management, IP management and research commercialisation. I would be happy to share my experiences with colleagues attending the conference.
